We named our hat the Tobacco Road Hipster Hat because, well, it’s a cool name!
You may have heard the term “Tobacco Road”. A band called The Nashville Teens created a well-known song called Tobacco Road. We found a book titled Tobacco Road written in the 1930s. Tobacco Road is also used to describe a tobacco-producing area in central North Carolina. We discovered that it was even a movie title in the 1940s.
Here’s the video of Tobacco Road, a totally cool and innovative song from 1964 by The Nashville Teens. These teenagers were from Surrey in England and were all under 20 years when they made this brilliant piece of pop. The song features one of the first great rock guitar riffs, and was a one-hit-wonder as part of the British Invasion of the 1960s. Yeah but what a song!
I wore goofy hats to school and did musical theater. Most people thought I was a dork. But if you have a sense of humor about it, no one can bring you down. -Zac Efron-
